Medial Subtalar Dislocation

This AP radiograph shows medial subtalar dislocation (the foot and calcaneus are medially displaced). This is the most common form of subtalar dislocation (85%). It is due to inversion injury. In most cases this can be managed by closed reduction and cast, although in some cases open reduction may be required.
